Housing For Independent People

Studies have shown that there is no place in the united states where a person living on social security or SSI can find market rate housing for 30% of their income (the guideline for rent expense).
Further, other research has shown that people with disabilities who are unable to secure stable housing often end up in situations that are expensive to the community they live in - either in a full care situation such as the hospital or in jail.
Housing for independent people (hip) provides stable, affordable housing for people with special needs, enabling them to live independently and take care of themselves.
