For over 30 years, Alternative Living for the Aging (ALA) has beenhelping people of all ages find safe, affordable housing alternatives.

ALA operates several affordable Cooperative ApartmentCommunities where low-income older adults form a new extendedfamily and help one another with the tasks of daily living — remainingindependent through their interdependence. ALA manages an open wait listfor three of the five Cooperative Apartment Communities. Monthly rentvaries at each property and ranges from $495-645.

ALA also provides a free Roommate Matching Service to the public — facilitating matching seniors with other seniors,mid-age, and younger people 18+ so that they may have affordablehousing,companionship, a sense of safety, and the ability to make endsmeet.
