Alameda County Housing Authority offers housing assistance to residents in the area that qualify. Assistance is provided through the management of Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher - Section 8 Program. There may be a waiting list for these programs and rentals. Currently the Housing Authority owns and manages 12 housing complexes and 7condominiums for very-low and low-income residents that provide more than 550 families with housing and  approximately 1600 very-low income families  are assisted  through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. If you are in need of housing assistance please contact them directly to obtain more information about eligibility requirements , availability of assistance and application procedures.

Every individual and family admitted to the housing assistance programs administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) has to meet all program eligibility requirements.  This includes any individual that HACA approves to join the family after the family has been admitted to the program.
The family has to provide any information needed by HACA to confirm eligibility and determine the level of the family's assistance.
To be eligible, the applicant family must:
    Qualify as a family as defined by HUD and HACA.
    Have income at or below HUD-specified income limits.
    Qualify on the basis of citizenship or the eligible immigrant status of family members. (See Section 3-II.B. CITIZENSHIP OR ELIGIBLE IMMIGRATION STATUS, of HACA's Section 8 Administrative Plan, or Section 9.6 ELIGIBLE ASSISTANCE STATUS, of HACA's Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy.)
    Provide social security number information for family members as required.
    Consent to HACA's collection and use of family information as provided for in HACA-provided consent forms.
HACA will disqualify any family whose current behavior is, or past activities are, prohibited by HUD or HACA.
