Alfred E. Plant Elderly Housing provides Section 42, LIHTC (Low Income Tax Credit) apartment properties. rents are based upon the Area Medium Income (AMI) and tenant based utility allowances. At least 20% of these apartments must provide these low rates for low-income tenants.

 This complex is a rehabilitation project that included 95 units of former Federal Public Housing and the new construction of an adjoining 42 units.  All 137 units are affordable and restricted to those 55 years old and over.
The building includes two elevators, a passive recreation landscaped walking and sitting area, on-site parking, security cameras, on-site management office, on-site laundry, a large community room, library, and multiple lounges equipped with televisions and computers.
The Property is located on the corner of Whiting Lane and Farmington Avenue and benefits from its location in a neighborhood with multiple shops and restaurants.  There is a bus stop in front of the property that runs to West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square less than one mile away.
