Chicago Housing Authorityprovides housing assistance to low income residents through themanagement of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the HousingChoice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income based andthe eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. There may be waiting listsfor these rentals or vouchers due to the overwhelming need for housingassistance and at times these lists may close to new applicants based onthe size of and the length of wait on the lists. If you are in need ofassistance please contact the Housing Authority directly to obtainmoreinformation about eligibility requirements, availability ofrentals orvouchers, the status of any waiting lists and theirapplicationprocedures. Their office is available Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm to assist you.
