Voluntary Action Center Of Dutchess County, Inc.

The purpose of hands-on! The Hudson valley is to support over 300 local non-profit agencies in the Hudson valley with volunteer assistance.

To this end we promote volunteerism through their site, community presentations, community partnerships and work with local media.

Once recruited, volunteers are interviewed to establish their interests and matched with local non-profits in need of service.

A secondary purpose of hands on! Is to administer programs that include a volunteer component, namely the ombudsman program which recruits, trains, places and supervises volunteers to serve as advocates in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, enriched housing facilities and family type homes.
