The Royal Grant is an affordable/subsidized community housing for families.
The term "subsidized housing" means that the rent depends on income.
A resident of the municipality pays about 30% of his income as rent.
The rest of the income is paid in the form of a grant if a resident qualifies for a grant, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), one of the United States. The government agency will pay the rest of the rent.
There are 61 one-bedroom apartments and 95 two-bedroom apartments with 13 three-story vinyl loft-style buildings.
