Village Gardens Apartments for Seniors

Village Gardens is a subsidized housing community for seniors age 62 & over. The term "subsidized housing" means that the rent is based on income. A resident of the community pays approximately 30% of their income as rent.The remainder of the rent is paid in the form of a subsidy. If a resident qualifies for a subsidy, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a U.S. government agency, will pay the remainder of the rent.
Village Gardens is RHFs newest community in Virginia.
This affordable community for seniors has 39 one-bedroom units and an apartment for an on-site manager. Apartments include a full kitchen, bathroom with safety amenities, a living room/ dining area, individually controlled heat and air conditioning, and an emergency call system.
Village Gardens is located next to an existing RHF community, Village Pointe. Income limitations are determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Village Gardens is made possible through a HUD 202 grant, funding from The Hampton Roads Foundation, and consideration from the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA).
