Mendocino County, California Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Community Development Commission of Mendocino County (CDC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Pre-applications were last accepted from January 22, 2020, until January 30, 2020.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Print out the online paper pre-application.
2. Call the CDC to request the paper pre-application.

Once the pre-application was completed, it must be either:

1. Dropped off or mailed to the CDC.

2. Faxed to the CDC.

3. Emailed to the CDC.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Veteran or surviving spouse of a veteran: If claiming this preference you must provide a copy of the DD214 showing Honorable Discharge within ten calendar days from the date you submit this application.
• Live/and or work in Mendocino County.
• Natural Disaster: *If claiming this preference attach a written statement of your current living situation to this application.
  • Families who have been affected by a natural disaster such as a fire, flood, earthquake or other natural cause.
  • The disaster occurred within the past 24 months.
  • The applicant’s housing was rendered uninhabitable in the disaster.
  • The family is not living in standard, permanent, replacement housing.
• Disabled, homeless, and currently living in Mendocino County: If claiming this preference attach a written statement of your current living situation to This application. Families who currently live in Mendocino County with a household member who: Has a verifiable disability, and the family is homeless under one of the following criteria:
  • Transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings.
  • At serious risk of institutionalization. 
  • Homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. 

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
