Butte and Glenn County, California Limited Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the County of Butte (HACB) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open on a limited basis. Applications are being accepted from June 1, 2020 until further notice.

Please note: According to the HACB, this opening is only for households that qualify "for the Limited Homeless and Limited Moving Up Preferences."

There are two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Homeless Preference:
   Call 211 and ask to be entered in the Coordinated Entry System. Homeless Preference applicants will be received by referral only from the Butte County DESS Housing Navigator using the Coordinated Entry System.
2. Limited Moving Up Preference:
   Applicants will be received by referral only from a Butte Countywide Continuum of Care organization. To qualify for the Limited Moving Up Preference, families must be transitioning from a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) unit and are under case management of a Butte Countywide Continuum of Care organization. These are persons that were previously homeless prior to entry into the PSH program and who no longer need that level of supportive services.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received.
