Eligibility
The Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura (AHA) last accepted Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Multiple Properties from April 18, 2023, until October 2, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
This waiting list was for the following properties:
- Casas De Sueño Apartments - Camarillo, 2 & 3 bedroom units
- Casa Velasquez Apartments - Camarillo, 3 bedroom units
- Meadowbrook Apartments - Camarillo, 2 & 3 bedroom units
- Charles Street Terrace - Moorpark, 2 & 3 bedroom units
- Walnut Creek Apartments - Moorpark, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units
- Garden View Apartments Phase 1 - Thousand Oaks, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units
- Garden View Apartments Phase 2 - Thousand Oaks, 2 & 3 bedroom units
To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.
The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:
- 1 Person $43,900 | 5 Persons $67,750
- 2 Persons $50,200 | 6 Persons $72,750
- 3 Persons $56,450 | 7 Person $82,800
- 4 Persons $62,700
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Veteran
- Applicants who are honorably discharged U.S. veterans or active servicepersons, widow/widower or divorced spouse of an honorably discharged veteran. (Applies to: Garden View Apartments Phase 1 and Garden View Apartments Phase 2)
- Residency
- Applicants living, working or hired to work within the AHA’s jurisdiction (cities of Camarillo, Fillmore, Simi Valley, Ojai, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, or any unincorporated area of the County of Ventura). (Applies to Garden View 1, Garden View 2 and Walnut)
- Disability
- Applicants whose head of household, co-head of household, spouse, or sole member is a person with disabilities. (Applies to: Garden View Apartments Phase 1 and Garden View Apartments Phase 2)
- For the purposes of program eligibility, a person who has a disability as defined under the Social Security Act or Developmental Disabilities Care Act, or a person who has a physical or mental impairment expected to be of long and indefinite duration and whose ability to live independently is substantially impeded by that impairment but could be improved by more suitable housing condition.
Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
