Eligibility
The DuPage Housing Authority (DHA) Senior Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at Finley Supportive Housing, Olympus Place, Trinity-Landings on Villa, Trinity Alton Court and Trinity Turtle Cove is closed.
The DHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from March 1, 2022, until March 31, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
Please note: This waiting list was for properties in collaboration with Social Service Agencies:
- Finley Supportive Housing, Lombard, IL; Studio, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Units
Finley Supportive Housing, run by Trinity Services, is a privately owned and managed property that offers housing units within a three-story apartment building for people with special needs, i.e. disabilities that impair their ability to live independently without support services. All tenants must have incomes less than 50 percent of the average median income. - Olympus Place, Naperville, IL; 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Units
Olympus Place offers subsidized, supportive-housing, provided by DuPage PADS, for individuals, families and veterans who are permanently disabled, have been homeless (per HUD definition) and meet program eligibility. Residents must meet the following criteria: 1.) A permanent documented disability due to a physical or mental condition or addiction; 2.) Documented as homelessness of one current year or longer or four separate episodes within the past three years; 3.) The ability to live independently in the community without medical supervision; and 4.) Willingness to pay 30% of income towards rent. Fully furnished bedroom apartments are available. - Trinity-Landings on Villa, Villa Park, IL; Studio and 2-Bedroom Units
The Landings on Villa, run by Trinity Services, offers apartment units intended for people with mental illness or physical disabilities. To qualify, residents must have a household income that is less than 50 percent of the median family income determined by HUD and must undergo a criminal background check through the Illinois Department of Human Services. - Trinity Alton Court, Naperville, IL; Group Living for 4 single men in one home
Trinity Alton Court, run by Trinity Services, is a CILA (Community-Integrated Living Arrangement) available for 4 single males and serves those with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. Each home is staffed by independent living counselors who support the male residents in maintaining the home and participating in community life. In some homes, staff provide support on an intermittent, as-needed basis. Residents share household duties to the extent possible and appropriate. - Trinity Turtle Cove, Naperville, IL; Group Living for 4 single women in one home
Trinity Turtle Cove, run by Trinity Services, is a CILA (Community-Integrated Living Arrangement) available for 4 single females and serves those with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. The home is staffed by independent living counselors who support the female residents in maintaining the home and participating in community life. In some homes, staff provide support on an intermittent, as-needed basis. Residents share household duties to the extent possible and appropriate.
To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Category One: Residency Preference:
- Full-time Resident of any municipality or township within the DHA service area of DuPage County; or
- One or more adults in the household is employed at least 30 hours per week within the DHA service area of DuPage County; or if one or more adults in the household is a participant for at least 30 hours per week within the DHA service area of DuPage County in an accredited employment training program designed to prepare individuals for the job market.
- Category Two: Family Preference:
- At least one household member is a minor child under 18 years old; or
- The head of household or spouse is at least 62 years of age or older; or
- At least one household member is disabled.
- Category Three: Veteran Preference:
- The applicant head of household is a military veteran who separated from the service with any classification except dishonorable.
- Category Four: Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Preference:
- Determined to be a victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking as described and prescribed under the Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA), and
- Applicant submits required documentation to qualify for the preference
- Category Five: Family Self-sufficiency (FSS) / HUD Demonstration Program Preference:
- Enrolled in the HUD Family Self-sufficiency Program (FSS); or
- Enrolled in any other HUD Demonstration Program. Demonstration Programs are HUD sponsored programs that after a determination of good cause and subject to statutory limitations, have been given authority to grant waivers to regulations that govern those programs
- Category Six: Involuntary Displacement Preference:
- A government action or a state or federally declared natural disaster involuntarily displaced you from a domicile in the DHA service area of DuPage County.
- Category Seven: Homeless Preference.
A total of 450 applicants were placed on each waiting list, by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.
150 applicants were placed on the Finley Supportive Studio unit waiting list, 150 applicants were placed on the Finley Supportive 1-Bedroom waiting list, and 150 applicants were placed on the Finley Supportive 2-Bedroom waiting list.
150 applicants were placed on the Olympus Place 1-Bedroom waiting list, and 150 applicants were placed on the Olympus Place 2-Bedroom waiting list.
100 applicants were placed on the Trinity Landings on Villa Studio units, and 100 applicants were placed on the Trinity Landings on Villa 2-Bedroom waiting list.
25 applicants were placed on the Trinity Alton Court waiting list.
25 applicants were placed on the Trinity Turtle Cove waiting list.
