Limited Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, and Wyandot County, Ohio Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority (HMHA) Limited Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed.

The HMHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from March 22, 2021, until December 29, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HMHA, this waiting list was for "applicants with disabilities, and those who are veterans ONLY." The notice also states "Income-eligible individuals and families can apply from 8:30am to 11:59am on the first Wednesday of each month."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to pick up a paper application at HMHA’s office.

Once the application was completed, it must have been returned to the HMHA's office.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Veteran Preference is offered to a family whose head of household, or spouse is a veteran or current member of the four branches of U.S. military who was discharged or released from such services for other than dishonorable conditions.  A widow/widower of a discharged or released service person for other than dishonorable conditions is also eligible for this preference, if he or she has not remarried. Please provide HMHA with a copy your DD214 when you return your application. 
• HMHA also has targeted funding for Non-Elderly Disabled. The head of household, spouse or co-head of household must be income eligible, under the age of 62 and disabled. Families with only a minor child with a disability are not eligible for this funding. Please provide HMHA with a copy of the head of household, spouse or co-head's Social Security disability award letter when you return your application.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
