Eligibility
The Allegheny County Housing Authority Public Housing waiting list for apartments at multiple properties is currently open.
The ACHA is accepting applications for this waiting list from May 10, 2021, until further notice.
This waiting list is for the following properties:
- Andrew Carnegie Apartments (1 Bedrooms)-514 Lydia Drive, Carnegie, PA 15106
- Dumplin Hall (1 Bedrooms)-502 Hay Street, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221
- Groveton Village (1, 2, 3 & 4 Bedrooms)- 511 Groveton Drive, Coraopolis, PA 15108
- Homestead B (1 Bedrooms)- 481 East Eighth Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120
- Negley Gardens (1, 2, 3 & 4 Bedrooms)- 804 Creek Street Apt D, Tarentum, PA 15084
- Ohioview Towers (1 Bedrooms)- 250 Jefferson Drive, McKees Rocks, PA 15136
- Pleasant Ridge (1 & 2 Bedrooms)- 251 Jefferson Drive, McKees Rocks, PA 15136
- Sharpsburg Housing (1, 2 & 3 Bedrooms)- 300 Sisca Street, Sharpsburg, PA 15215
- Twin Oaks Scattered Sites (1 Bedrooms)- Sanlin Drive, Coraopolis, PA 1510
There are two ways to apply during the opening period:
- Complete the online application here.
- In person applications are accepted at the Allegheny County Housing Authority Central Office, located at 301 Chartiers Avenue McKees Rocks, PA 15136.
This waiting list has the following preferences:
- Category 1 Preferences: (1) Applicants for whom a law enforcement agency is seeking housing as an accommodation for its witness protection or confidential informant programs; and (2) police officers whose residency is needed to increase security for public housing residents, (3) a household evicted due to a resident or guest who is subsequently found innocent of the charge that led to eviction or the charge is dismissed and (4) victims of domestic violence.
- Category 2 Preference: (1) veterans with an honorable discharge or current military service (Spouse only) who is not currently housed in an Allegheny County Housing Authority project-based assisted unit. Residents of the Allegheny County Housing Authority public housing program asked to move due to the modernization of his or her unit or community regardless of whether the waiting list is open or closed.
Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
